We are excited to announce that our founder, Nirmal Lumpkin, has completed her 10 year journey in the Aquarian Training Academy. Alongside her mentor, Kirn Khalsa, she has worked hard to earn the title and role of Lead KRI Trainer. This is a HUGE accomplishment!
In addition, she is the author of Enlightened Bodies: Exploring Physical and Subtle Human Anatomy (2015). This work explores the human body through many lenses; from physical/gross anatomy to a subtle understanding of chakras and meridians. Nirmal has just graduated from the University of Minnesota as an MD and is starting her residency in Family Medicine at St. John's Hospital.
We’d like to celebrate her commitment to making Kundalini Yoga inclusive and accessible through her integration of anti-racism, decolonization, and body-positive language and practices. Nirmal is--and has been--a leader in the national Kundalini Yoga community, whether it's her past work coordinating national events like Summer and Winter Solstice festivals or her contributions to conversations around how to evolve the teachings after the YB allegations.
